Richard R. Arries, NBC-HIS is a native of Miami, Florida.
He received his Associates of Art degree from Miami Dade Community College.
Richard moved to Portland, Oregon in 1993 where he began training in the Hearing Instrument Sciences, becoming licensed in the State of Oregon and Washington. He became certified by the National Board for Hearing Instrument Sciences in 1995. Richard became a member in good standing of the Oregon Hearing Society, the Washington Hearing Society and the International Hearing Society practicing in those states for the next 18 years dispensing and fitting hearing aids.
Mr. Arries became actively involved in the Oregon Hearing Society, and became president for the 2003 and 2004 terms and the Oregon Hearing Society was recognized as Chapter of the Year, by the International Hearing Society. He is a national and international trainer for new licensees and the dispensing of hearing aids. In addition Richard also proctored licensing exams for the
state of Oregon for four years. In the community he was active with the "Hear Now" program fitting underprivileged people with hearing aids and the "Homeruns for Hearing Aids" a program for hard of hearing children in the Portland community as well as working with "Dogs for the Deaf" program.
Mr. Arries returned to the south where he obtained his Florida license and joined the Florida Society of Hearing and Health Care Professionals, as a member in good standing.
In his leisure, he enjoys spending time with his two daughters traveling, snorkeling, scuba diving, boating and fishing.
