Doctor Hegland

Dr. Thomas W. Hegland is a native of Chicago Illinois. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree here in Boca Raton at the Florida Atlantic University. Dr. Hegland also received his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry while attending Florida Atlantic University and in conjunction with the Boca Raton Community Hospital, he also earned a Certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists as a Medical Technologist in the areas of Hematology, Chemistry and Microbiology.

Dr. Hegland obtained his Doctor of Optometry from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where he also achieved membership in the Beta Sigma Kappa and Sigma Alpha Sigma Academic Honor Societies.

Dr. Hegland performs comprehensive dilated eye exams, and specializes in post-surgical co-management of patients with our surgeons. Also specializing in medical and surgical triage, Dr. Hegland provides emergency services to our patients during and after hours.

In his leisure, Dr. Hegland loves spending time with his family, boating and fishing for Sea Trout in Florida Bay.
